Many people had upgraded from the XP to VISTA & now to 7,but a question is always in their mind what happen to the build in ADMIN account .Is it still there if it is then how to Enable it . Basically the ADMINISTRATOR account is used to troubleshoot the PC & can be enabled easily by some simple COMMAND’s.Here I will show you the process but be careful while using  the ADMIN account.

Enable Built-in Administrator Account
(1st Method)
First you have to open the command prompt using admin rights.Do the following
  • Click the “start orb”
  • Type “CMD”
  • When the “CMD” appears right click on it & click “RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR”  -or- You can also open Command Prompt in Administrator mode by typing “cmd” in Start menu Search box and press “Ctrl+Shift+Enter“.
  • NOW type the following …
net user administrator /active:yes
Check it by pressing “CTRL+L” key.
  • The account has been activated ,now to deactivate it do execute the following command to the command prompt.
net user administrator /active:no
(2nd Method)
  • Right click on  Computer  & select “manage”   -or-  Start run & type "compmgmt.msc" to start "Computer Management" window.
  • Go to "Local Users and Groups -> Users". At the right pane click on administrator account,it will open its properties .Deselect "Account is disabled" option and Apply it.

(3rd Method)
  • Open Run dialog box and type the following command “secpol.msc” , it'll open "Local Security Policy" window.
  • Goto “Local Policies –> Security Options”.
  • Open the first option “Account:Administrator account status” and select "Enabled" and apply it.
